How old are you?
How long have you been performing?
What made you try it?
Studying choreography and contemporary arts at university led to me creating some acts that fit into the world of cabaret.
What do you do when you’re not performing?
Bath in rose petals drinking champagne – I wish, I work in Ann Summers! I also produce my own shows.
How did you feel the first time you stepped on to the Cabaret stage?
Excited but calm, it really does feel very natural to me.
What about the first time you performed on stage?
Even in primary school I loved being on the stage I love making people laugh.
What’s the secret of being successful at this?
Hard work, a good eye for style, great rhythm and a sense of humour.
Whats your favourite thing that has ever happened on stage?
One time I was hosting and I kind of broke character and started laughing at something silly and then the sound of my booming chortle made the room laugh so it was essentially me laughing at a room of people laughing it went of for quite a while.
What really goes on back stage?
There’s a lot of un-glamorous elements to it but I don’t want to ruin the illusion. We talk about new routines, have a laugh and have fun it’s very sociable and there’s a lot of love and encouragement for each other.
Tell us about your current routine or new routines you’re working on.
As usual I want to do something funny but this time add a super glamorous costume to really sparkle and amuse on the Cabaret Supper Club stage.
Who is your favourite Cabaret performer & why?
Currently I really love the work of Velma Von Bon Bon, she is so incredibly funny and backs it up with talent as well as wonderful costumes! She’s got it all. Vicky Butterfly is another burlesque favourite of mine, such style and grace you can’t keep your eyes off her when she’s on the stage.
Soup DuJour is a creative force of nature who is always sure to tickle your funny bone. Her large personality, high energy and creative reveals are a joy. Mixing the glamour of glitter with humour of cardboard props there is no telling what turns her routines will take but her aim is to put a smile on your face.
